1. You aren’t Steve Jobs.

Stop trying to be. You aren’t.

    You are you.

People might try to compare your leadership, design, or presentation style with Jobs, but don’t listen to them. Don’t try to become ‘Steve-Jobs-Like’ in the way that you live.

Try to be more like yourself than anyone else. Try to be so like yourself that it hurts. Give yourself. Discipline yourself. Spend yourself. Share yourself.

At the end of the day when your head hits the pillow, it would be a shame if the only question on your mind was, “Did I live like Steve Jobs today?”

Steve Jobs was a wonderful man, but I’m sure there are a lot of things about you that Steve probably wanted more of in himself. Did you know that? Authenticity is attractive, and if you really want to be a leader like Steve Jobs, you’ll have to reject the idea that you’re going to be like Steve Jobs, and accept the fact that you’re just going to have to do the best you can with what you have: you.
